Ok. There's a company called http://idesignyourlogo.com/. Now, I bet they do one hell of a job but can I be honest?
A logo is the face of a company. It builds brand identity and awareness. It represents you no matter where you go. People will see the logo and get a certain feeling, interest, thought or an idea when they view it. This company started off charging $2 a day starting on March 1st and ends at $730 on February 28th of the following year. Every day after March 1st you are charged $2 a day. So if I wanted to have them create a logo on May 19th (the soonest day they have available), it would cost me $160 (80 days since March 1st). If I needed a logo on January 13, 2011, I would pay $638. Ok, you get the idea. Is it some marketing incentive ploy to order a logo sooner than later?
I have said over and over - marketing does not have a price tag, but an expiration date. It is an investment and not an expense. A logo is like a marriage. Sometimes it doesn't always work out and you must tweak it or start from scratch; but starting from scratch isn't always a bowl of ice cream and brownies. It takes time to get it right. IDYL claims that they "spend a lot of time and effort on your logo but we can’t always nail it on the first try." They provide one logo with NO revisions on day one. So what exactly are you paying for? What happens if you are never satisfied on day seven? How much will that cost? Just something to ponder on...
